The HiFi switch is normally not fitted to the H/K systems in verts as this button's function is controlled by the roof module changing the soundstage when the roof is open or closed. As I want to have that function available at my will, regardless of top being open or closed, I retrofitted the switch (which sends a +12v signal on one pin on the amp). Actually, I retrofitted the H/K system as my car only had the low-fi 6 speaker, non amplified system. As I'm totally OEM and didn't want to spend fortunes on aftermarket ICE, this was my only real option. I love it. Specially since the vert has its dedicated subwoofer, located inside the ski-pass. All picked up for less from ebay/foreign BMW forums. You have to love the internet! Here's some pics of the installation (I haven't bothered getting all the H/K speaker as I will replace the stock BMW ones for some aftermarket upgrades. Yes, sounds a bit contradictive, but I meant things like subs and amps.
