Even if you beak the window you can’t just reach in and unlock the door…the e36 has “central locking” which means that if a key is used to lock the door from the outside, or if equipped with a keyless entry, the door can’t be open from the inside. Yes you can lock people inside your e36! You can test this by rolling down your window and lock the door using the key in the door then reach in through the window and try to unlock or open the door…won’t happen.

@Jim K: But if the thief is not fat, he can get inside the car from the window :p . I’m not sure what he can do next, but he’s atleast sitting in a BMW E36 if that is all what he wanted to do LOL! . and I think some people will think this is enough :D

Hi, I know how that feels cause my car got broken into. They damaged
the body and smashed the passenger glass to get in. There was blood
everywhere and in a miracle the guy was caught!!
    Cheers!

so you have broke the glass and now what??

    bmw fitted these with deadlocks
like said in the post above if they are activated when the car was locked you will never open the door unless you have a key

lets just hope his key was inside :D
