Hi all, I found a post on the bimmer forum made by MParallel from the Netherlands. In that post, he took some great photos of the interior of his car at night. I have to say, these photos made me speechless. They’re just great!. Take a look at the CD player, the Phone and the illuminated M3 shift knob. Also take a look at the HIFI switch. This is the first time I see that switch. It seem when you turn it on, it separates the frequencies better and sends a more clear signal to the speakers. Overall, this is one of the best illuminated interiors that I’ve ever seen. What do you guys think? Do you have the HIFI switch?

Take a look:-

I have the HiFi switch in my 318i, I think I’ts because of the HK Sound System Option.
When you switch it on, It gives you a surround sound environment. And once you heard it, you wont turn it off 😀

That’s my car! lol. I guess pics are free for all on the internet.

    Just kidding, it’s all cool.

The HiFi switch is normally not fitted to the H/K systems in verts as this button’s function is controlled by the roof module changing the soundstage when the roof is open or closed. As I want to have that function available at my will, regardless of top being open or closed, I retrofitted the switch (which sends a +12v signal on one pin on the amp). Actually, I retrofitted the H/K system as my car only had the low-fi 6 speaker, non amplified system. As I’m totally OEM and didn’t want to spend fortunes on aftermarket ICE, this was my only real option. I love it. Specially since the vert has its dedicated subwoofer, located inside the ski-pass. All picked up for less from ebay/foreign BMW forums. You have to love the internet!

Here’s some pics of the installation (I haven’t bothered getting all the H/K speaker as I will replace the stock BMW ones for some aftermarket upgrades. Yes, sounds a bit contradictive, but I meant things like subs and amps. The stock speakers really suck and some decent aftermarket ones are good enough, but better than the crappy stock speakers)

Subwoofer and amp (to the left of it)
