1994 318is crankcase vent hose problem

OK so, my car always had a tick(not literally) first I was driving during summer. All the sudden my car just dies, the ac is on. So I turn it on and bam, it did it a again so I pin point it to the ac, and I simply just don't use it. Fast forward a couple months later and I start hearing a whine every time I start my car. I think it's just the car and wonder if it always sounded like that and I never noticed it. Now about 3 months ago the car starts running very bad and the idle lopes once and a while. So I change the plugs, it kicks out a a$$ load of oil out the tail pipe. Then it after a while the idle always lopes, and it's always throwing up a check engine light. I have done a few engine swaps in my time and I've learned to ignore that light because of it. I thought it was the O2 sensor. I was driving home and my car just died. I check the motronic by pressing the pedal and all that and it came up as a lamba control issue. Long story short I cleaned the Idle speed control valve and while doing so I noticed the Crankcase vent valve to vale cover hose was broken in three places. so I replaced it.I checked the engine code and now it comes up as a 1444, code that means everything's ok It still won't start but it crank like hell. I let it sit for awhile and I tried and it started for one second. could it be my fuel gauge is messed up or my fuel filter/pump is toast? Would it show a code?
