1995 325i fuel pump problem??

Postby skye36 on Tue Oct 13, 2009 4:14 pm

i went to leave for work the other day, it turned over but didn't catch. thinking it was the battery, i charged it, tried again and the same thing happened. i then turned the key on and off real quick to see if i could hear the fuel pump running. didn't hear anything. im thinking its the fuel pump, or maybe the fuse. anybody else have the same problem? or know anything else it could be?

Is it turning over consistently every time you turn the key?

Im not too sure if you will be able to hear the pump running, some cars you can and alot of cars you cant! Also depends on if you have a full tank of petrol or if your running on fumes. You could remove the cover for the fuel pump from the tank and you will certainly be able to hear it then. Have you tried a running start? If you have, was the car trying to start like jumping as if under its own power? Upload a video to youtube of you trying to start it so we can hear what kind of noise its making.
