1st gear popping out in my 1993 e36 325i

hi guys i have a 1993 e36 325i the 1st gear pops out when i take of from stationary i heard its quite common in the e36 up to 1998 model and heard that the best way to cure is with a new gearbox but e36 325i gearbox from a e36 after 1998 is very hard to get are there any alternative gearboxes i can use instead thanks

a 2.0 box for shorter 1st-3rd gears or a 328 for slightly longer 1st-3rd gears

The cause of the "popping" out of gear could be many faults, if your not sure what your looking at then send it off to a mechanic and let him judge if its the gearbox.
