hi there i have a Nreg 316 compact, when the engine is warm it cuts out everytime you slow for a junction or roundabout, infact just slowing at all. Also it seems to lack power at the same time. the idle doesn't seem to hold steady either. Any help wold be greatfully put to good use

Welcome to the club....owners whose cars idle badly, stall, and lack power

All I can tell you is what I've been told -- check for vacuum leaks...clean the idle control valve, ensure the mass airflow meter is working well...etc etc. This is one of the most annoying things to fix in any car. Does the engine check light come on at any point - if so find out what the stored codes are and go from there.
