328i coupe asc button

can anyone please elp i have a e36 328i on a 97 last couple of months my asc button does not come on when pressed and the yrllow triangle wont come up been in touch with bmw but they dont seem to know or care could it be a relay or other please help

ASC is ON by default. The dash light will only come on when you switch it OFF or it senses a fault.

There is also a small chance that there is a fault and someone has removed/covered the bulb in the past.

thanks for reply did mean wont go off when button is pressed hoping relay or switch thanks though

My first guess would be wheel sensors. Basically the monitor the wheels and report if the wheels are rotating at different rates. If they are sending the wrong signal or no signal at all you'll get a fault. Although they are part of the ABS system it's possible they light the ASC fault light and not the ABS one.

It's possible it's the relay but I've never heard of it.
Not very likely at all that it's the switch's fault.
