A big hello from the UK!!

Postby BigBadBaz on Tue Mar 09, 2010 3:37 pm

Hello to all,

I primarily use Bimmerforums.co.uk, but wanted to expand my knowledge and help onto other forums, so here I am.

I brought the BMW in June '09, for the tidy sum of £600.

145k miles on the clock
New clutch fitted at 136k
Peco s/s exhaust
De-cat
FSH up to 133k.

Here she is as I saw her on ebay...

After picking her up, I knew I had to get her wax and polished...

As you can see above, she came up really really well, for a car that will be 18 years old in April 23rd 2010, well done BMW 8) 8)

I then fitted my Momo Millenium Steering Wheel and JVC KD-AVX1 Headunit...

Then adjustable coilovers...

Then I picked up a set of AC Schnitzer Type III 17"'s

After a quick clean:

Yes there is a bit of negative camber going on at the front, but Im happy with it....

Then we had a bit of snow.........

Then a set of CCFL Angels were fitted. The glass deflectors within the headlights were removed, for a much more clean look...

Xenon lights inbound......

Wanting to change the dull interior I opted for Savilis' red cloth interior. It was a big gamble, was it going to be too much red or not??? After paying less than a ton for it, and after fitting it, the gamble has definatly paid off!!

This is it on ebay:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330407881418&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Yes I know it looks crap on ebay, dirty and dull, but after a good clean, it has come up really well............a lot better than Savilis had originally thought......

So I stripped my interior out and with the help of E36Meerkat (BFUK) and Savilis fitted the new one......

The weather was good a couples of days ago so out she came for a good clean, inside and out!...

Now after a good clean, I must admit it looks the dogs danglies :D :D

Anyone agree??? 8) 8) 8)

So as from 07.03.10, this is how she currently stands...........

It must of been well looked after!!!!

The snow played havoc with my paint and im left with huge swirl marks all over the bonnet, roof and boot. Still looking for a decent wax to get rid of them, so far Dyxmol (i think its called) has given the best results but its still quite bad :(

The car looks great, really really good, but there's something about the wheels. It feels like they're small... are they R17?
best regards,

I do like the look with the negative camber but do you find the front understeering when you give it a bit of welly or is there no noticeable change in handling?

I dont give it welly mate as that could be classed as dangerous driving.............;) but on the private roads (lol), I dont find it understeers at all.........The handling is very good though, its a good 70mm lower and therefore sticks to the road like glue! lol :)
