I posted a question on topping up my air-con on jan 3rd got the imformation from a BMW mecanic i met on a fishing trip it might be usefull.Start the car up and turn the air-con on and turn the fan full blast, let the car run for about 3-4 minutes attach the top up can to the low pressure pipe adapter which is on the larger diameter pipe, a properly charged system should read between 25 and 45 psi, spray top up can till you get a correct reading if you use the whole can and still not able to get the correct reading the whole system will have to be reconditioned. Also you only need to run your air-con twice a week for about 30 minutes to keep it in good nick so as to help with the fuel costs which on my 328 increases by 6% so i was told.Imformation got from BMW mecanic of 40 years on holiday from germany good fisherman to !!!!

Thanks for the info! Lately it seems like my AC isn't as cold as it used to be, hopefully this will fix it up. Couldn't have found this a better time either... it's getting bloody hot here.
Thanks again.
