Hello everyone, just like to pick you're brains if possible. Ive bought this very nice car for my gorgeous girl. So any help would really be helpful.

She's has a 1994 325i convertible and I can't make out if the alarm is working. The red alarm indicator does nothing. But if I put a meter on it, (ohms) it glows red. I should say this is at the base of the switch/box which fits in the console. I also know there's power going from the plug to the box.

I did try to trick the alarm by lifting the bonnet, then placing a brick on the bonnet switch. Then I locked to door, waited (no red light on console) waited and, waited. I removed the brick indicator lights flashed. no sound, and no red light.... still. Where's the sound???

The computer display has gone south, so I cant tell if it says anything, do you think it would? Would a scanner tell me anything?

Many Thanks Phil

It may be that someone previously clipped the wires for the alarm sound due to inadvertent triggering. The alarm is good for tampering alerts, but the EWS should keep it safe from any but the most knowledgeable car thief. I had removed the fuse due to nuisance triggering.

Hello everyone I have an up date for you. Today I replaced the Front Central Locking Relay Actuator, because my drivers window did not drop on opening. It worked for a few minutes. It even flashed the alam to arm! Just lately in had noticed my interior lights won't come on. Now if I unlocked the other door ( passenger ) lights come on, window drops as normal.... And get this it flashes to arm the alam.

Question, can anyone tell me why one door works and the other dose don't. Would the ecu be at fault?

Cheers phil
