Angel Eyes nightmare?!

New to the forum (and new to Beamers tbh) I'm hoping you lovely lovely people can offer some advice?
The BM is my Boyfriend's car, actually- we just picked it up at the weekend, along with some extras and bits and bobs. This included a set of angel eye headlight units- the full units, not a DIY kit. They still have the writing on the lenses from the scrappy, which say they came off an E36 3 series, and they fit in the hole, but the wiring doesn't match up.
The angels have 3 plugs out the back of them, and the car only has 2 plugs there for the lights- just wondered if anyone has come across this, or would have a clue how to adapt it? (Or why they don't match, even??!)
