Auto box ECU

Does anyone know if it is possible to reprogram the ECU so that I can make it change into 5th gear earlier and hold 5th gear longer? With the best part of 200bhp the engine would easily manage 40mph in 5th gear instead of changing down to 4th at about 50 mph which increases the fuel consumption drastically.
