Budget?

Turbo?
Small shot of nitrous?
MW50?
Weight reduction?
Dry ice IC?

You can do anything but getting a 1.6l to go fast in a heavy a$$ car isn't going to come cheap.
Good luck to you. I'd be amused to see a 316 putting out some good numbers.

Weight reduction is about the best and cheapest way to go. Whats heavier, AA membership or spare wheel and tools. Carpet in the boot. Sound deadner inside the doors. Removal of ABS unit and just use cadence braking, those units are some weight. I think it was TESCO that said it best, ''Every little helps'' Once you do take everything out though the car wont be as nice to drive on long journies. You might have to bite the bullet an just upgrade to a 320 or 323
The ONLY Hellrot Red 323 in the world, emmm except for the other few thousand dotted around the world.
