boot wont open (1996 320i) please help

Postby jabba123 on Wed Nov 04, 2009 1:50 pm

hi can anyone help please.
ive had my car for 4 years and never had a boot key the key fob used to open this which was always sticky i had to open and lock it a few times befor it would release the boot, now it doesnt work atall.
ive tried gettin in from the back seat but cant seem to do that.i have no boot lever inside the car.i think with continuous banging of boot button trying to open it has caused something inside to break off etc.can anyone tell me how i can get it open.i have a flat tyre at the moment so car is parked up cos im unable to get in boot to spare and locking nut.i have been told you can drill a small hole above or below the number plate which i then assume you can get at the release or something ,does anyone know anything about that.
please help anyone
thankyou

Drill directly into the lock barrel using gradually larger drill bits, youl eventually drill back the locking pins so that they are smooth and can open with a flat head screwdriver.
