Central Locking unlocks cause window sticks on coupe

Postby johnheyes on Fri Feb 03, 2012 4:42 pm

Hi i have 318is and i have found that the central locking unlocks itself cause the window doesnt push up correctly.. (for thoes who are unaware the coupe's have no door frame around the window like a convertable and they automatically lift into the seal when the door is closed)

I am wondering if anyone has come across this before and have any fixes? i am resorting to have to push the window into the seal to get the door to lock. Could there be a switch i could disable or something into tricking the central locking that the door is closed/window is up?

Thanks :D

I have sussed it, its the switch on the door catch. Its worn down and not pressing in fully. I have put some old wd40 on it and it works ok if i lean on the door a bit when i close it. Might either get a new switch or try and bridge the small gap between the door and switch with somthing like a blob of glue or somthing.
