I see LOTS on the net about this issue.. is there any fixes?

I have been told to find out if CC is installed by checkin my washer bottle for the switch.. im assuming its not there as I cant see.. but then again Im not 100% sure what im ment 2 b looking for.

Also, to have check control working.. i assume u have to have this installed (http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/sma ... %2C%20Each) does anyone know where this module is exactly to check.

If you want to see if you have CC, take a bulb out of one of your indicators and then turn your hazard lights on. If you get a little message on you OBC then you have CC. My 323 is a 96 with original 18button OBC, no AC, no electric seats and no seat warmers. Its not exactly the highest spec on optional extras and my car doesn't have CC. I'm going to hazard a guess that it was an optional extra but could be wrong about that.
To be honest i think its kind of pointless going to the trouble of installing it, it'l be alot of work for a feature that almost every new car now comes with. And i think it will be alot of work!

Also, i buy alot of old cars in my spare time and fix them up and sell them on. There is nothing that is more of a headache than going out to look at a car to buy and liking it, then you get it home and discover the factory wiring has all been cut up and then retaped to retrofit extra lights, novelty extras etc etc. You should never really mess with factory wiring by trying to add optional extras that could of come with your car but didn't
Thats just my opinion, sorry.

i got the 18 button OBC my self and put in, all plugs were there for it already. so one can hope plugs for the CCM are there. will c how it all goes.

i work at a car yard, we get lots of cars and sell about 100 a month... have had a few problems with wiring, but not that much, anyways, im keepin my car till its rusted.. love it.. and i wanna get an 98-99 M3 sooner or later for the track

Yea im currently in the market for an m3 but sadly its gonna be an e46. Iv looked at a lot of e36 m3 but i want the 3.2, everything iv seen so far has been really fiddled with and i really just want it completely original with no holes drilled or no extra buttons. I don't want wiring or mechanical faults giving me a headach, i don't mind brakes or wheels been changed. Iv looked at 2 e46s, both original and they have really grown on me. Just a really nice note from the exhaust and the interior is somewhat similar.
