Compact engine.

I have just bought a 316i Compact which I expected to have the sohc 1.9 l engine. However, happily, it actually has the 1.9 l dohc engine which I like a lot! It also has rear discs.
Thing is, nowhere can I find info that says this combination is possible.
It was 1st reg Oct '99; was this engine put in the cars later, regardless of badges, log book info etc?

You sure its got a double cam and not just the cover off a double cam engine?
As for everything else i don't really know.

I'd imagine it has the same equipment/ equipment options as the 316i saloon or coupe. If any of them came with a dohc then the 316ti would of been able to avail of them aswel.
