Convertible trunk/boot third brake light

My Convertible trunk third brake light is out and showing "Brake Light Issue" on the OBC; upon doing research I discover it's not a cheap $4.00 bulb, but a $400.00 (dealer price) light bar!!!! WTF
!!! Anyone out there have a surplus light bar that would fit my '96 328ic soft topper?? Or know where one can be more reasonable obtained

I have one with me as I write. HOWEVER I live in France. It can be sent to you and came from a 'spare' boot lid, sorry trunk lid, for my 1997 328i cabriolet . Nominal $25 plus what ever postage.
