de-cat pipe??

Postby mattm328i on Wed Feb 08, 2012 7:38 pm

hi guys. next week im buying a twin exit sports backbox for my 328i, ive also got hold of a straight through custom de-cat pipe off my mates 325i. once the backbox is fitted im in 2 minds about the de-cat pipe!! will i notice that much difference in performance?? do they sound terrible once fitted?? any previous experiences from anyone please as i obviously dont want it to sound crap or go through the hassle of fitting it if its not worth it. many thanks

from what i heard the de-cat make a "tinging" sound when accelerating hard..
i would personally would go for high flow cats instead.

adding a de-cat pipe will make it loud if that's what you like, but the back box will make it quiter, personally i like the rumble sound. you could just remove the cat from the original exhaust system and replace the back box with the one you have bought.
