Electric seat leather transplant

I'm looking at replacing the leather in my M3 convertible as its started to look a bit worn out. I've been offered a full set of front and rear seats (with door cards) from a M3 coupé which I've been told should go straight in as they were built on the same chassis. However my current front seats are electric and the replacements are manual, does anyone know if the leather part of the seat can be removed from the hard plastic base so that I can keep the electrical base from my original seats?
Cheers,
Tezza

I don't know about the M3, but on my 325i, I have e46 electric seats in the front, and the swap of the leather with cushion is a very simple operation. I used a 1/4" nut driver with a 10 deep socket to release the fastners and popped them out. 8-)
