ERRATIC IDLE

Postby bangin on Sun Sep 19, 2010 5:37 pm

I have a 1994 e36 m43. When the vehicle is cold it starts , idles and drives beautifully. But as soon as the temp gauge comes to the middle it starts surging and cuts out. i then have to wait for it to cool down before it will start again. I,ve cleaned the ICV, replaced the MAF, replaced the temp sender unit with a new original one. I,ve also replaced the PCV. I,ve checked all the pipes for leaks and cracks by spraying some carb cleaner around each one to see if the idle picks up.I dont know what else to do. could some one please help i,m at my wits end.

Crank sensor would be my guess. Happened on my old 328 sport and turned out to be that after doing everything you've done.

Get a diagnostic on it and should shed some more light mate
