Exposing the air conditioner blower fan

Postby PDBromley on Tue Dec 24, 2013 2:51 pm

Some assistance please on the following issue. I have a 1996 E36 323-I. Recently the blower fan has been making a screeching noise at various times, clearly the blower fan is scraping against the blower fan housing. Yesterday the fan stopped operating (all the air conditioner lights still light up on the control panel as if working except no fan!). I think the fan may have finally jammed against the housing.
How do I get to the fan and housing to be able to check this? I need fairly detailed instructions on what to remove and how to remove these parts.
regards, Philip (PS the car is a right hand drive)
