faulty brake light

my brake light (passenger side) where the bulb unit connects to the metal circuit plate seems to be burning out , i have replaced the light unit but it has happened again, i bought 1 off ebay and that arrived with the same problem so i bought another 1, does any1 know if this is a common problem or have i got wiring issues thanxs....

funny you should say that.....

i went to change my standard lights to aftermarcket ones and on the standard light unit (passaenger side) it had an earthing with put in by the last ouner. so i dont know if this is relavent??
