right people first time owning a bmw i have got a e36 318is and car runs fine pulls well, but noticed the temp gauge needle never moves from just on the edge of the blue would there be a reason for this like the thermostat?. and the passenger window goes down but sleems to slip out of the regulator (if thats right) is it just a case of fixing it back in?

also put my head unit in today and for some reason only the drivers side foot speaker works not sure why yet just wondering if people could tell me wat sizes the speakers are and wat they do?

i think the foot speakers are 5.25cm am i right?
wat size are the tweeters in the door?
and can i put some 6x9's in place of the rear speakers as i have none at the moment?

thanxs in advance

I think you're right. the thermostat needs to be replaced.

Sorry I can't help with this.

Did you verify that the sound balance in the headunit settings is set to middle?

Unfortunately, I don't know the size of the tweeters. Sorry.

To access the thermostat, you need to remove the cooling fan and then remove the bolts holding the thermostat housing. You should find a DIY for this on the web.

you must replace your plastic sliders in the window mechanism.they are not very expensive.you will find that the are worn and the ball from the arm slips out either from the one or both, normally the one pops out.when you replace them with new ones there is a clip on the sliders ,don't pull back slide the plastic slider in line with the ball on the arm and just knock it in with your hand.put some graphite grease on.hope this helps you

there is a problem with the siders now as i have the same problem but it is on the drivers side window. i went to a garage and i would have to buy a regulator. but went to a local scrappy and got a plastic slider from a later 318is. worked fine until it broke again. just watch out. also if you look at a different coupe they apparently are not the same. all else fails find a milling machine
