I can't recall if there is a fuse that closes the electric windows circuit. That would be the first thing to check.

I once had an analogous problem. I took out the door panel to take a look at what was happening. My bimmer has a mechanism that uses two plastic 'clips' to hold the glass window in place. One of them broke and that was the cause.

I suppose you have already taken the door panel out and had a look at it.

This DIY might be of some help: http://logun.org/e36coupewindow.htm

Oh I see, your bimmer has a disabler button. Nice one... mine doesn't have it.

Regarding the clip, I can find it on my local bmw parts store... Part No. is 51321938884 "Sliding piece"

I have bought some parts from http://www.pelicanparts.com but I'm sure there are other places. That one should be pretty easy to find.

Just searched with the part # there and they have it, 2 USD each.

Chunky...Where's the button that enabled the windows? Everything works but the windows and sunroof - it's driving me nuts.

Cheers and Thanks in advance
