hi all im a new e36 owner i brought a 328i soft top and on the digital heater display no matter what temp it reads its always blowing hot air help please

Is it blowing hot air out of all the vents or just the centre one?
The centre one has an extra wheel under it that will allow you to adjust it warmer or cooler than all the other vents.

presumably the A/C is selected ''on'' and fully charged up? Don't laugh But I complained to a mechanic and he leant over and selected A/C
