how do l get rid of the jerking on my car.

Postby lewyavm on Mon Dec 28, 2009 5:25 pm

Hi everyone, just joined the forum. I've had my first 316i e36 for 10 months and never had a problem with it and all of a sudden when the car is in a low gear it starts jerking. Please help if someone has come across the some problem l'm facing. :?: maybe the airflow meter or something to do with fuel.

Is it doing it at low revs when in neutral? What kind of air filter are you using?

hi, my 318is coupe is jerking when i'm trying to accelerate in 1st and 2nd about 3500 rpm, i have idling problem but i'm putting it down to the ICV so going to clean it and the throttle when i next get a day off will this solve the problem with the jerking?, a friend of mine who is a mechanic said that i might have a air leek on a vac hose or on the intake hose, i get the feeling it could be one of many things but would like a hint where to start with replacing parts.
