hey im new to this, i have a 99 318 is, im not sure of the hp it has but im wondering what is the best thing to do to gain more? induction kit's? or are they any use? or any thing else? any help is good thanks.

Last check it was just short of 140 horsies. I think you'll be looking to increase torque rather than horsepower.

Horse power is more to do with the high end where as torque is what gets you moving eg. how fast you accelerate.

Simple answer... an induction kit will make you found/fell faster but in reality bot change much at all. Pretty much the easiest way to increase torque is a nice little/quick spooling turbo. Other options include custom longer intake runners for more torque... or shorter ones if you actually want more HP. Changing the gear ratios. Bigger engine.
