idle lumpy on e36 325 tds

i have a 1994 m reg 325 tds auto. when the car is at tick over it is lumpy reving between 600rpm and 750 rpm. i have run some redex through the system and it ha made it a bit better but when im at the lights the whole car rocks from side to side. wat can be the problem. cheers

I didn't know it had one. Where abouts is it in the engine bay. Cheers.

Yea a dirty idle control valve is usually the suspect of bad idling. That or an air leak. More than likely the 1st one though, heres a step by step guide off e36blog.com.
