Intermitent Cutting out / Misfiring

Postby kiddo on Tue Apr 06, 2010 9:31 am

I am experiencing intermitent cutting out, and sometimes driving as though it's mis-firing. This does not happen all the time.
I had it in the garage recently for an MOT, and without checking the mechanic thought it might be the airflow meter. He didn't have tome to fully check whilst it was in for the MOT, however, since then, and talking to others, it was suggested that this may just be a fuel filter issue.
Has anybody else suffered this issue, and if so what was the cause?
Thanks & Regards

Yea sounds like it could be a fuel issue alright! Does it throw any faults while mis-firing/cutting out?
Does it ever not start?
Is there any grumbling rocking noises from the engine when idling or low revs?
