hi i have recently bought this car and its a south african import. when i looking in the instuction manual it stated that it was an eight valve single cam, but when i opend the bonnet it was a twin cam 16v. apparently its the original engine because the african models had this engine fitted in them before britain did ite a it sias 318i on the boot. (94 reg)

m40 ,m42 ,m43 ,m44

and what bhp is she??

hope you can help me as i am waiting to buy performance parts

m44 16 valve engine mate
its about 140bhp

so its an m42 then ?? yeah lol. so is the bhm the same? also when i go to buy an exhaust or samco hoses wil a 318i parts fit or a 318is ?

is they a difference in BHP between the m44 16v engine and the m42 16v engine ?
