Ok so I know everyone likes a clean engine bay so I started by polishing and painting the valve cover and upper intake manifold, then painted the throttle body and changed the oil cap. Leaving the engine looking a bit tidier

But then I thought about it and the bay itself was looking a bit dirty and I hated it so I found some t-cut, Meguiars Paint Cleaner, Meguiars wax and a pile of rags and removed the washer bottle to get started.
This was the condition of the paint before I started(although this is on the passenger side cuz I took the pics afterwards)

I mean SERIOUSLY!! That is filthy! And yes my friends think I'm sad for doing it but this is the result

MUCH BETTER!!! Only took two hours, so I'll do the other side tomorrow night, then solvol the polished bits on the engine and then move on the plastics at the front of the bay.
However my otherhalf has called it an obsession!! Ha! I figure she's in work till late so I just thought I'd do something to pass the time.
Or is she right??
