knocking at my door

What type of noise will an engine make if a cylinder is not firing, or if it is not getting fuel?

If it's not getting fuel it's not going to make any noise :P
The few times I've had one cylinder not firing it's been very obvious. It sound pretty sick and different than usual and shakes a bit.
