Sump will need to be modified but the rest fits.

Keep us posted with your swap!

If it's going to be street legal, check the road authorities if putting an older engine into a car is allowed and what are the requirements in doing so.

street legal ha ha good joke lol
na going 2 have it as a track car might take it out for a spin every now and again when its done but wont be testing it..

i got my engine a few days ago and the basterd replaced the clutch on me wit a shit 1 all the bolts were open didnt notice it when i was there tho..

i have a few different ideas for my mounts so that i wont have 2 modify the sump..

ill get cracked into it this weekend strip all the extras off the engine and try get these mounts mocked up..
ill put pictures up when i figure out how to do so..

I don't think it's a stupid idea at all. I'm all for doing something different and especially like doing things that people tell me it can't be done.

Alpina, Hartage, a few individuals and apparently even BMW have put a M30B35 into an E30.

I have seen it talked about for a E36 before but I don't think it went anywhere.
People bashed the idea because it's a SOHC instead of DOHC like the M/S 50/52 and makes less power than a S50B30.

yeah i no thats y im doing it and i like the engine..
yeah the e30s can be done much easier cause the firewall is further back than the e36..
ya need a 6 series sump for the e30s tho..
i got my engine out of an e34
1 thing i was very curious about was would the oil pump from the m50 or any of the newer straight 6 engines fit into mine? cause if it dose it will be a much much handier for me to get the engine in..
any info much appriciated

i believe i have my sump problem sorted havent gone to the toruble of trying it yet but it seems like a pretty good idea..
im going to take the sump off and take the lifter off and turn the sump around and get a longer lifter to pick the oil up at the back of the sump..
if this works wit no clearance issues of the oil pump thenim going 2 get another sump thats cracked or broken and weld the gearbox mounts on to it if this all works..
not 100% if it will or not but sure its worth trying :)
