Afternoon BMW_chef,

Without further information I doubt anyone will be able to work out the problem.

Start with the basics, and use trial and improvement to get to the bottom of it.

As you have said, try charging the battery but better still change it so you know its definately not the battery.

When you turn the ignition on, is there any lights on the dash??

When you try and turn the engine, do you hear a clicking noise??

Any further information that you could provide would help. Failing that wait for the 'bloke' to arrive :)

Edit: By posting in the correct section (http://www.bmwe36blog.com/forum/troubleshooting-f3.html) might get you a better and quicker response too ;)

Cudos BigBadBaz.
We really do need more info!

Did the car die while your were driving it or did it just not start when you went out to it?
If it died as you were driving it what happened the second before it died, did it just die or did it stutter for a while and then gradually die?
Did it make any funny noises?
Did it cough out a cloud of smoke?
