My car beeps at me!

Hi guys,

Im new at this forum. It's a pretty nice website you got going on here.

i have a BMW E36 325i from 91' - it beep's 3 times at me when i drive around, but its not when i crank it, its just a random point where it beeps at me (Beep, beep, beep) in the beginning i thought it was because it warns me about it's cold outside. But its 20 degrees celcius now. And it still bothers me

What causes this ?

Does it do it every hour?
If so then your service reminder lamp needs to be reset.
When you first start the car what is your oil change interval at?

Well i think you need to take a help from a car technician.He'll be able to tell you the right reason and fix the problem.

Hi guys, sorry the long waiting for my reply. I've asked a friend of mine. Which is a mechanic. But not a BMW, he said it was the alarm clock on the boardcomputer which is telling me that the clock has changen from example 14:59 to 15:00. And you can turn if off pressing ''MEMO'' on your boardcomputer. I'll haven't drived my car since i changed this. I'll let you guys know.

Just for the record, i dont think my service lamp needs to be reset. It still has 2 green bars left before i need the oil change.

Otherwise i dont know what service lamp you mean?

I've encountered such problems myself, and I really think that 'beep' sound was caused by the cold weather outside the car. I lived in Beijing, China, and I can only hear the sound in cold winters, so I guess that is some kind of the reminder of the low tempreture outside.

It is the hour reminder from the OBC.
derekmeng your right, the OBC beeps once when the outside temp gets down to 3 degrees celcius

I believe it to be your service lamps need replacing? hope this helps?

I would suggest you to consult the technician about this problem.He could help you.

It's the memo button on the obc, turn it off and there no more beeps 100% as had it on mine and is a frequent question on other forums.

It's not the service indicator as that doesn't beep on any of my bm's. Its just lights
