Hi Gents and Ladies Merry Christmas !
I have just purchased a 2000 316I E36 coupe 115000klms.
It is in very good condition and i am getting to know Her!
Could someone assist me with a few questions??
I Need to identify the engine. I assume that it is an M43TUB19 ?
Chassis No : AP75450 Engine No: (off documents) 04889477

I would like to get a service manual specific to my variant, outside of the Bentley book
Can you recommend ? Do BM sell specific manuals ?

Q1.The windage from the rocker cover oil fill hole seems high, I have checked and cleaned the CCVV, which was very clean. Is this typical to these engines?
Q2. I have found the O2 sensor and Mass flow sensor, but have not been able to identify the idle mixture control valve ? (different than info off the net)
Q3 Are non genuine BMW O2 sensors OK to fit?

This little car is great, and has rekindled my desire to enjoy the drive and the mechanical part
I have been driving automatic fourwheel drives for some years, with family and children etc
I am a Marine Engineer, I am keen to embrace this fuel injected technology and service the vehicle myself.

Cheers Shawry, Central Queensland Australia.
