not stable working after cold starting

Postby alex-alex on Wed Apr 22, 2009 8:02 am

Hi!

I've a problem with cold starting of my 316 M43 1994. If it's a little bit cold outside my engine after starting work several seconds properly, but later begin working not stable and at last stalling. What interesting that this can be repeated with temperature declining - if temperature lower, this can be repeated up to 3 times. I'm suspecting that it's gage of cold starting, but have no idea where it's located and how to check it. Does anybody have any idea? Let me know if yes...

take a look at your intake manifold gasket get some starting fluid and start the car if it starts to hesitate or want to stale than spray the starting fluid around the intake manifold and if the engine picks up and runs better or makes any changes the gasket is no good. this happens because when the manifold is cold the metal will shrink and will let a lean burn happen and problem wont set off a code and as the metal heats up it makes a tight fit and the car will run right
