OBC Horn

Postby paulrhein on Sat Oct 31, 2009 1:15 am

I was reading some reference material stating that some E36 OBC's have a horn attached. I was also reading a post on this site(BMW On Board Computer (OBC) secrets!
) about the test codes of the OBC. test code 17 or 18 turns the horn on and off. I have had no luck with this. Has anyone discovered where this horn would be located? I would like to find it or is it the same as the regular car horn?

Yea trying to find the same out about mine, it says you can switch from a dual tone to a single tone horn, no luck yet though!!
Are you looking for the horn or a buzzer on the OBC?

The OBC horn is attached to the panel directly above the driver’s side foot well. If you're not hearing the OBC ding sound, it's most probably that the horn needs to be replaced. It's very simple, just remove the panel. It's the cylinder that is attached to it. Normally black or blue or gray.

I already answered that :-) . It's attached to the panel directly below your steering wheel. Just remove that panel and you'll see it right away.
