OBC outside temperatur

Hello !

My girlfriend bought a BMW 316i six months ago, the car has this so called On Board Computer. I am trying to find out how this thing works. Most of the features seems to work fine, but one thing I can not figure out is the outside temperatur. The display keeps showing -37 degrees celsius. It never changes and is not correct at all. I do not find any way of reseting/recalibrating it. What could be wrong? And is it possible to calibrate the temperatur sensor? :? This feature would be very useful because the temperatur often drops below 0 degrees celsius at night in the early spring, would be nice to know what the outside temperature is (to know if it is danger for ice on the roads).

Thanks for all help !

Regards from North-Norway !

Tony(owner of these forums) has posted about this problem on his E36blog;

As a feature the onboard computer will also make a "ding" noise to alert you the the possibility of ice on the road.
