obc speed button

hi guys could anybody help me please i have just completed an 18 button retro-fit but the speed creeps up very slowly. have i done something wrong or is it just a crappy connection? any help please

Hi Karlos,
I've heard of this problem before check [url=http://www.bmwe36blog.com/2007/03/31/bmw-on-board-computer-obd-secrets/]BMW On Board Computer (OBC) Secrets[/url] and search for "Brandon". He had the same problem as yours, but I don't think he was able to fix the problem as he totalled his car. So, I didn't find out the fix for this problem. Anyway, I'm suspecting there's something wrong in the wires connections. I suggest you start from there.

hi tony. just a theory but would the thickness of the wire restrict the signal so to speak? and when i start the car should it read o.oo or is there an idle tolerance! thanx

I don't think the wire thickness would affect it, but I guess you should ask someone who has already made this upgrade and solved this problem. He will defintely help you better with that.
When my car is not moving, the speed is 0

cheers tony . i have noticed since i double checked the wiring that if the car is not running it is dropping slowly ? having said that i did reset the unit and my mpg is now bang on . will take it for a spin and let you know how i get on!!!!!!!!!!
