On start up the ABS light came on stayed on

Hi all

This morning I started the car and the ABS light stayed on and the ASC is not working. I know the two are linked. The ABS isn't working. I used the car yesterday and there were no problems at all the ABS light didn't come on nor flicker. Whats the chance of it beingthe ABS relay? Anyone out there with some ideas?

My car did exactly the same last week. It was going in to have the brakes done anyway, so the mechanic, whos a mate, checked it and said it was the abs sensor that had gone. No issues with the brakes themselves. Its a painfully bright warning light though.

Thanks for that. Is that the expensive ABS job or is it a reasonable cost?
