Curbing damage repaired as well as possible

After paint but before laquer

Before and after

Theres not a huge difference in the colour but i did go 2 shades deeper than the original colour. The repairs, even though they are still evident, still look pretty good.

Heres one last pic after the 1st 2 wheels got a 3rd generous coating of laquer.

The next pics to go up will be the wheels on the car, hopefully next friday. I finished sanding the other 2 wheels earlier but the wind picked up and was to windy to paint them, I plan to get them painted on sunday and the laquer done on one of the week nights next week.

They look awesome!! I love them and I'm sure I'll love them even more when they're on the car... was it a hard job? how much time did it take?

I'm fairly hung over today and dont really see myself cracking on with painting the other 2 wheels today but we'l see how it goes.
Was'nt to hard, just labor intensive. Total work hours gone in is 4 hours on the friday i got them, about 8 hours the following sunday and 3 hours the thursday after. Thats a total of 15 hours to get 2 wheels completely done and 2 wheels sanded and ready for painting. I'd say it will take another hour to get the other 2 painted but that will have to be broken down over several hours.

Not bad considering if i wanted to sell them i'd make about €350-€400 on them. Fair bit of profit.

You're right, it's a lot of work, but the final result is defintely worth it. I was thinking of doing something similar to my wheels too, but I need to find some time first :D

Time is a b*%@h alright.
You can usually pick up a set of steel rims from a scrap yard for €20 (dunno how much that would be in dollars)
All you need is 2 steel rims, 6 sheets of medium sand paper, 4 sheets of fine sand paper, a thick roll of masking tape and then your paint and also laquer.
Did'nt get the other 2 wheels done, so hoping to get them done over the next few nights.

Well got them finished the other day :D
They were sitting round all week and was never bothered to fit them, pure lazy!
Had to replace the rear brake pads today soooooooo i fitted 2 of the wheels on the rear of the car, the 2 other wheels have race slick tyres and i dont have money for the tyres at the minute :(
I must say i quite like the look of 2 bigger wheels at the back and small on the front

Will put up a pic when its bright tomorrow.

One mans scrap is another mans little dixy. When she walks into a room, she is quiet, polite. But her fellow politicians say she’s galvanized steel with a smile. They already had experience scavenging up North after Japenga read a book called Evasion, the true tale of a man who Dumpster-dived across the country.
