Rear carpet soaking wet with rain water.

Postby SkyEvo on Wed Oct 14, 2009 6:48 am

Hello guys..

Have some problem here.every time it rains i noticed that the rear passenger carpet (behind driver) is drenched with water (only the carpet, seats are dry and all other carpets are completely dry). i've tried to solve this problem once at the workshop, the mech there just put some silicon glue or something inside the door panel and manage to lessen the amount of rain water slipping through however problem still persist..water is still there everytime i check after the rain. i can recall the mech also told me maybe the water is slipping through the rubber door trim and lining whereby he suggest me to change it but the door rubber linings seem fine to me, without any tell tale sign of tear or leaks. i'll be glad if anyone knows or can suggest how to solve this problem once and for all, i'm just afraid that in time, the water will get the car body rusted into pieces.. any other place on the car that water might have been slipping through?pls help, thank you..

Is yours a coupe or saloon? Check the rubber seals between the windows and door. That failing and you cant see evidence of a leak anywhere, get a friend with a hose to pour water over the car while you sit in it and try find the leak.
