Rear Door Won't open. H E L P!

Hi guys. need help with this.

i got my e36 6 mos. ago and i've been all over the net trying to find a solution until i bump on to this site.

i was having trouble with my rear door. i can't open it from outside, when i finally downloaded a manual i ran into the child lock thing. after i turned it to child lock setting, The door won't open from both sides.

I'm from way south in the Philippines and in our city i havn't found one service shops for Bimmers.

Hope you guys can help me with this. :D thanks

hi i think you have now put the child lock on ,turn if off ,then take of the door card and see if the pin from the door handle to the door lock is on they can come off ,i had this prob with my bmw ,hope this helps

Your going to have problems now you've put the child lock on it will be difficult too get the door card off but you should be able to pull it away far enough to see the childlock or door mechanism rods inside if you can turn the child lock off then do so and open the door from inside nas before, If not you;ll have to pull on one of the levers on the lock/latch inside the door This should open it (use a torch to see). When the door is open you can remove the door card completely and check the rod that goes from the lock/latch to the outside handle sounds like this has fallen off or broken. Hope this is of help.
