Red calipers on a Hellrot e36

Postby VMZ on Sun Oct 05, 2008 1:54 pm

...How bad is it going to look when it turns out they don't match? Red calipers seem like a fairly common thing and yet I can't find anything about anyone having this problem.

Black and red seem like the obvious choices but on a hellrot bimmer with (soon to be)black style 22s, neither seems like a good choice.

Anybody have any suggestions for me?

I am not too sure what you getting at, but I painted the calipers on mine Red. i have a Silver 328ic with a black convertible top. My Brother advised me to just go red, and I do not regret it. It really depends on what wheels you have, whether they can be seen.

Thanks for the replies. I painted the fronts red and as expected it didn't match. A mate tells me it looks bad(he might just be jealous because he doesn't have a bimmer), I don't know what to think of it. They don't stand out too much though.

Wouldn't yellow add make the car too colourful?

I don't think yellow is going to look nice on that car. Any chance you can post some pics for the current paint?

I apologize for the state of my car  I know she need a wash and the paint on the front bumper fixed but at the moment I'm working 12 hour days which leave me very little time to do anything about it.

The cash in my bank account is building up nicely so I may end up buying an e30 to mistreat and keep the e36 looking good.

I think this paint looks very good! What do you have in mind to accomplish better than this?

Thank you.
I would prefer Hellrot rather than just some random red or gloss black but I'm afraid it will be a different black or different gloss level to when I paint my rims.
