Reverse lights not working

Postby TheMutzNutz on Sun May 02, 2010 5:52 pm

Hi, my reverse lights are not working. I only had the car about 3 weeks and i don't think they've ever worked. How can i fix it ? I don't think its the bulbs as it would be a bit of a coincidence if both had gone.

I dont know where the fuses are either ??

I'd say its mostly likely both bulbs are gone, people don't ever check there reversing light. Its not as easy as tail lights or headlights. It wouldn't kill you to take 2 minutes and take the plastic cover off the light cluster. Locate your reversing bulb and twist it out. If the bulb is darkened then it needs to be replaced. Its never very common for an e36 to have wiring problems, electrically and mechanically they are bullet proof.
Always try the easiest, cheapest and quickest option 1st when it comes to repairing something.

Many latest head light or back lights bulbs are available in the market. Sometimes in e36 wire problem may arise and it may possible that Bulb got fused and not working well. I have face same problem in my car but i replaced all my headlight and back light bulbs since then every thing is working fine.

There is a senser on your transmission that might be out I know when I went through inspection here in Germany mine were not working so i put in new bulbs still nothing, then I had to buy another sensor was like 11 bucks and its simple its a plug and play system, then they worked perfect, home this helps! If you need help locating the sensor just refer to your book or google it :-)
