silly sound + car wash

Postby serkast on Fri May 29, 2009 6:33 am

hello- new to the forums and hope to learn much information! I own a black 94 325is with white interrior. I have big plans for m3 engine/transmission swap diy fashion.

Ok, heres the deal. When it rains; I am fine, however, when application of flowed water is applied via car wash or hand wash, my vehicle will not start.

It turns and turns and turns but just cannot kick on. I noticed today during a hand rinse, a high pitched frequency coming from my vehicle. I continued to rinse and after completed wash, i got inside and noticed the sound was louder. Not only that; but the vehicle made a variety of sounds, including an odd sound which was similar to the sound of a muffled sun roof opening. After waiting hours; i return to my vehicle, and notice the frequency sound continued to announce. Still no start but she is really trying!

I turned on lights and everything was bright, but i did notice that my brand new battery drained quite rapidly. Now the battery is almost dead. I am waiting until morning to attempt starting and continue to deduct various information of my vehicle in which i desire to learn about.

I believe it may be due to various electrical wiring that has badly damaged covering of its cords; but i would like to confirm, for i have just now grown the balls to wrench on her- haha.
Under the hood, the sound becomes much clearer despite me unable to pinpoint its location ( it sounds like it comes from everywhere ). As time goes by- various sounds occur from different locations in the compartment like a click here or there and one that sounds like its guggling or exhaust putting.

Oh and one more thing that i have been curious about... My battery is located in my trunk- which i see no leaks within, but is that normal?

I appreciate your attention and help, thank you!

Yeah look around when you open your bonnet ...the fuse box en computer can get wet and then a million of problems come about.
Some times leafs or other crap clutter the drains..check it
