smoke from steering wheel

Postby Jonnycash22 on Wed Aug 04, 2010 10:56 pm

Hello, I have a 1996 BMW 328is. So the other day I was driving along and I made a left turn and then I saw a smalll bit of smoke come from behind the steering wheel. It wasn't ongoing, it just came out once and then that was it. It seemed odd. Any thoughts?

smoke would indicate wires shorting out, if it was me i would have the battery disconnected sharpish and inspect, or leave it and see your car go up in flames
